Inner Compass
Your Nervous System. Your Map. Your Way.
A practical and compassionate approach to understanding yourself
through the lens of your body's innate intelligence.
Let the wisdom of your nervous system
guide you home to yourself.
Inner Compass helps you to learn your system’s language and to follow the signals of your body— not to fix or fight, but to listen, learn, and gently return to yourself again and again: steady, rooted, alive, with a sense of possibility and choice.
Welcome
Inner Compass is a space to slow down, reconnect, and listen inward. This 10-session journey combines nervous system education with embodied exploration — helping you not only understand the patterns beneath your stress, anxiety, or overwhelm, but also gently shift them through practice. Through a blend of psychoeducation, somatic tools, and supported reflection, you’ll build a deeper relationship with your own system and develop practical ways to return to steadiness, connection, and choice. Whether you’re seeking greater resilience, clarity, or simply space to breathe, this work offers a grounded path home to yourself.
“The state of our nervous system shapes
the stories we tell ourselves.”
(Deb Dana)
Why understanding and tending to your nervous system matters
Your nervous system is not just a biological system — it’s the foundation of how you relate to yourself, others, and the world around you. It influences how you respond to stress, how you connect in relationships, how safe or anxious you feel in your own skin, and how resourced you are to meet life’s challenges.
When we understand our nervous system through a Polyvagal lens, we begin to see that our patterns of reactivity, shutdown, or overwhelm aren’t personal failings — they’re intelligent, adaptive responses shaped by our history and environment. With this insight, shame and self-blame start to soften. In their place, we find compassion, choice, and new pathways toward healing.
Working directly with your nervous system — rather than just learning about it — helps bring these insights into your lived experience. Through somatic exploration and regulation tools, you can build real capacity for presence, ease, and resilience. This is not about controlling your responses, but about cultivating a deeper relationship with your body’s signals and learning how to respond with care and curiosity.
When you come into right relationship with your nervous system, the world begins to feel different. There’s more space to breathe, to feel, to connect — and to choose how you move through life.

Inner Compass: A nervous system journey that guides your way home
A 10 session journey of exploration and support
This ten-session 1:1 container offers a safe, supportive space to explore your nervous system through the lens of Polyvagal Theory. Blending gentle psychoeducation with personalized mapping tools, we’ll uncover how your system responds to stress and safety, identify patterns and triggers, and cultivate the practices and resources that support greater regulation, resilience, and meaningful change. It’s an opportunity to deepen self-understanding and move toward more choice, connection, and wellbeing.
The benefits of nervous system awareness and allyship
Greater emotional regulation and resilience
Learn how to recognize your nervous system states and support yourself through overwhelm, anxiety, or shutdown. Over time, this builds the inner flexibility to meet life’s ups and downs with more steadiness and care.
Increased capacity for presence, connection, and creativity
As your system becomes more regulated, it’s easier to stay present in your body and open to connection with others. From this place, creativity flows more freely and life feels more vivid and engaging.
Deeper understanding of triggers, reactions, and patterns
By mapping your nervous system responses, you’ll begin to see why certain things set you off — and how those patterns were once protective. This clarity can soften judgment and create space for new ways of relating.
A felt sense of safety and groundedness
Safety isn’t just a concept — it’s a body-based experience. Through this work, you’ll cultivate a sense of inner anchoring, where you can land and rest even when life feels uncertain.
Choice to respond rather than react
You’ll learn practical, somatic tools to interrupt automatic reactions and instead respond in ways that align with your values and needs. This creates more choice and agency in daily life.
More ease in relationships and decision-making
When your nervous system is settled, it’s easier to access empathy, communicate clearly, and navigate decisions without spiraling into doubt or reactivity. This opens up more nourishing and balanced connections.
A sense of empowerment, not just intellectually, but somatically
Understanding your nervous system isn’t just about knowledge — it’s about embodiment. You’ll start to feel your capacity grow, which fosters a deep, rooted sense of trust in yourself.
“This work is a subtle and deep learning of the parts of us we often ignore
—caring for our embodied experience to become more grounded and clear. I came with a mix of life transitions: post-menopause, long marriage, motherhood, loss of my mother, career ending, and a new ADHD diagnosis. I longed to feel calmer, more regulated, and improve self-care and relationships.
Through these sessions, I gained insight into my holistic experience and now have tools to support myself—catching the overwhelm before it spirals, tending to my needs, and recognising when I’m falling back into old stories. Being gently reminded that my body and feelings need care, not just mind-based fixes, has made a real difference. I’d recommend this work to anyone feeling stuck where talking therapy no longer helps.”
(Angie Koetler)
More than just knowing- why somatic practice matters
Reading about the nervous system can be enlightening — but real transformation happens when knowledge becomes lived experience. Somatic practice bridges that gap. It brings understanding into the body, where patterns of stress, protection, and connection live.
Working somatically means learning not just about your nervous system, but with it. You begin to notice the subtle signals of activation and regulation, to listen to the language of sensation, and to respond with care rather than override. This embodied awareness creates change that’s sustainable — not because you’ve told yourself to think differently, but because your body has had a new experience of safety, connection, and capacity.
It’s the difference between reading a map and walking the land. Somatic practice invites you to walk the terrain of your own system with curiosity and compassion, discovering new possibilities for how you move through the world.
As Deb Dana writes, “The nervous system doesn't respond to words; it responds to experience.” This is the heart of why somatic work matters — it meets you where change actually happens: in your body.
